Error message: Error establishing a database connection

Hello - Hope someone can help me out. I’ve just installed Razuna on my PowerBook Pro and followed the steps on the Razuna pages for installing it under OSX. That all worked and Tomcat started.

I use MAMP. If I use the settings of Apache port 80 and mysql port is 3306, and go to the localhost webpage as instructed to finish the setup with the installation wizard, I get this error message: “Error establishing a database connection”.

If I set MAMP to the default port (8888, resp. 8889) I get: “The requested URL /razuna was not found on this server.”

Can someone tell me what I apparently do wrong?

Thanks,
Arnoud Steeman

If you are just testing Razuna you can use the embedded database, i.e. you
don’t need to configure the database.

Thanks. This time I could get the wizard going. I guess the key action was that I now first made a razuna MySQL database. I hadn’t done that yet. The only seemingly inconsistent aspect is that I need to make a MySQL database before the wizard allows me to select the internal database or another one.

It may also simply have worked now because I needed to restart my machine in the meantime. That often does wonders in miraculous ways.

Whatever the reason, I can now test Razuna.

You don’t need a DB in order for Razuna to run. Looks like you had to
refresh the cache
