I am describing a scenario which looks like a bug to me. I have created a folder structure where I add assets (images). I do not allow simple users to download the originals but only thumbs. It all works perfectly… Simple users can only see the thumbs and add the pictures in their baskets. The problem I noticed is when a simple user using their basket, they choose to create a new collection with the assets from the basket.
Once the collection is created, simple users are able to access the original version of the images (not just the thumb) from within the collection. Is it a bug? If not, how can I dissalow users to download the full version? Ideally I indented that the admin would go to that collection to give the “go-ahead” to the simple user who would then be able to access the full images
not the case here…
User can only access preview of the images… He takes the images, puts them in a basket and chooses to create a collection out of them. The same user goes in the collection (the one he has just created) and can download the original version of the images.
Is that normal?
PS: in the administration part of the tenant, I have set the "By default originals are never set to be downloaded. If you set this to “Yes” then originals will always be made downloadable! " to NO.
From your reply I understand that there is an option that defines permission settings for any folder or collection that will be created. I have found that setting in the administration of the tenant and set the "By default originals are never set to be downloaded. If you set this to “Yes” then originals will always be made downloadable! " to NO. But again the user can download the original images from the collection they created
We have to look into this, as it looks like the collections don’t take the
default settings into account.
However, there is a workaround now for this. Go into the Collection and
under sharing/permission set the sharing of the originals to what you need.
Then click on the “Reset link”.
Thanks for the respose. The “problem” is that the user has created the collection from his/hers basket.
In our scenario the users create collections and the admins then should give the rights (or not) to download the originals to these collections. Once this process is complete users download the images and the collections are not useful any more (they might be deleted)
